When our Parent gets sick and then very quickly needs to move-in permanently, our family/couple and career plans can be upset.   Contact your brother, sister, another relative or your loved-ones’ friend may stay at your home to cover for you.

Talk to your spouse about the details/plans when you have to bring your parent into your home to be cared for.  Let them know that you don’t want to seem neglectful by focusing on the caregiving, so communicate! Don’t let small issues become Big problems…they fester.

Romantic Getaways are more important now than ever…make a list of travel plans from before you became a caregiver, your favorite first.  Here are some tips:

-Plan on your calendar some intimacy with your spouse…alone time for fun and laughter.

-Keep neat and clean as much for yourself as your loved-ones. Primp a little.

-Do one thing special for your spouse each day…special meals, a love note hidden somewhere.
