Marie’s mom was diagnosed with Cancer in 2001, and being close to 80, no chemo or radiation was called for.  Toward the end  her mother started becoming hateful, and it wasn’t until later that she found-out that this was largely due to antidepressant side-effects. (more…)

It is so very difficult when it is necessary to bring outside help into your home.  Nobody wants to have their privacy intruded upon, and often don’t feel that they can live with somebody else.  New caregivers try to do it all themselves, and they can’t handle it. Lauren Barrett says that the most difficult part of primary caregiving is probably the 24-7 care.  As a primary caregiver you must take time to rest, as it can be exhausting taking care of a loved one that won’t LET them rest.
