Dementia patients often lean-toward being violent, non-verbal or depressed. These are generally the three categories they fall-in. Deep inside most of them know something is not quite-right any more, and this often contributes to this behavior. Sometimes aggression is nothing more than self-frustration.
Now there is a test that can be given by your neurologist, and if you have a relative that has been diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease, you can ask if you can have the test run to see if they have this gene. This can give you an idea of what may be coming down the line, so that you can prepare for it. For-warned is for-armed.
