Introducing
Starr and Bob
Bob & Starr Calo–oy were both born and raised in San Antonio, have been joyfully married for 29 years. They have 10 children; two of which still live at home– an 11 and a 13 year old.
PERSONAL, ONE–ON–ONE CAREGIVERS:
From 1989 to 2006, they owned and operated a personal care home specializing in the care of terminally ill patients and people with Alzheimer’s disease and other forms of dementia in their home. They also cared for the well–minded elderly who could no longer care for themselves at home.
In addition to caring for the elderly in their home, they taught in–services for doctors, nurses, the staffs of hospices and home health agencies, sharing tips and unique ideas for caring for people with dementia.
AUTHORS:
In April 2004, they released their first book, “The Caring Caregivers Guide to Dealing with Guilt”, about their experiences over 18 years of operating their personal care home.
In November 2006, they released “Hospice Care at Home: A guide to caring for your dying loved one at home” This book provides the family caregiver with all the information necessary to keep their loved one in their home through death rather than sending them to a more institutional setting.

RADIO AND TELEVISION HOSTS
Starr and Bob host two, live, weekly, one–hour radio talk shows on Saturday mornings; “Caregiving 101” and “Marriage 101.” Starr also has a Caregiving 101 segment on KENS 5TV, Great Day SA Sunday (CBS affiliate) every Sunday morning. During the caregiving show, listeners can call in and share their hearts and ask questions to make their caregiving tasks easier. On their radio show, they have a weekly segment called “The Lighter Side of Caregiving” in which guests share their humorous stories while caring for a loved one. If you do not live in the San Antonio area and want to see their TV segments, go to our home page and click on the media tab. If you live in Texas, try to tune in to 680am from 9–11am Saturdays. KKYX has a broadcast reach of 99,000 square miles, so if you live in Laredo, Austin, New Braunfels, Eagle Pass, Del Rio, Houston etc., you can pick them up!
TEACHERS/COUNSELORS
Presently, Starr now gives private consultations to individuals on how to start and operate a successful personal care home as well as helping family caregivers set up their home for care. Starr and Bob also teach free marriage classes in their home and invite the public to attend.
Starr & Bob Calo–oy are now enrolling married couples for “Marriage 101” classes. Whether you are a marriage class leader, have a stellar marriage, a so–so marriage or are having problems communicating, these classes can bless you and your spouse! The summer classes will start June 4th from 6:30pm–8:30pm.
SPEAKERS
Starr and Bob speak at conventions, seminars, civic clubs, and health care facilities, do book signings at Barnes & Noble’s all over Texas, and make television and radio appearances.
