That‘s right! This is no typo. Caregiving has been our life for the past 20 years and we will not charge to come and speak to your group. However, we do accept love offerings or honorariums. We do not want to make it difficult financially for you to get this important information to your attendees.
From 1989–2006, my husband, Bob, and I owned and operated our own personal care home which specialized in the care of Alzheimer‘s and dementia patients, terminally ill, as well as the general elderly public. In August 2006, we cared for my mother until she passed away in our home. She was the last person we took care of because after that, we retired from elder care to write, speak and educate caregivers full time.
In April, 2004, we came out with “The Caring Caregivers Guide to Dealing with Guilt” in which we identified 9 distinct types of guilt and the solutions to overcoming them.
In December 2006, “Hospice Care at Home” was released. This book equips the family caregiver with all the tips and instructions they need to care for their own dying loved one at home rather than a more institutional setting.
Then, in January 2008, we published “Caregiving Tips A–Z” & “Caregiving Tips A–Z , Alzheimer‘s & Other Dementias.” These books, each with over 1200 unique caregiving tips and almost 500 pages, have been showcased all over the world since January; helping caregivers to make their jobs at home much easier. We feel our caregiving topics will be of special interest to your members who have elderly loved ones.
All of our books will be available in Spanish by December 2008.
We would like the opportunity to come to your convention, church, seminar or meeting and speak to caregivers in your organization. We are also listed with the Alzheimer Association Speakers Bureau.
Please give us a call so we can schedule your group or convention. Call Starr at 210–521–8668.
